Things I want to remember FOREVER!

I have got into a runt, Lilly does and says the cuttiest little things and if I dont make it my status update on facebook than usually it never gets wrote down. Honestly I know it stuff that I will forget over time but I would love to read years down the road and laugh at what a amazing little girl she is. So here it goes... a few Lilly-isms!

-When we drive down Walnut Creek across the rail road tracks she almost always knows where we are at, The Donut shop. "momma donuts, yes Lilly that is donuts who takes you there, daddy" please note that I never take her to get donuts.
-When driving by downtown Fort Worth on I-30 she gets all excited to see the "Princesses Castle", "big castle" Im not sure exactly which castle she is refering to but Im pretty its the old abandon post office.
-She is such a people person, (see she is NOT Jennifers child) on most occasions she wants to hug everone and has to know everyones name. I can tell when she is not in her comfort zone.
-She is sleeping in a twin size bed now, her Big girl Bed as she calls it. So when she wakes up her normal rutine is to bring all of her bedding, which includes her pillow, princess pillow, Lillian pillow, night night, one or two stuffed animals and possibly another blanket with her to our bed so she can watch cartoons. It use to be a nice cuddle time while we tried to wake up but here lately its turned into a wrestling match and pretty much makes you jump out of that bed!
-She loves loves loves taking pictures, finally something that she gets from her momma! So we are selling her iPod touch and gave her one of our old iPhones that has a camera on it. Let me just say that she is pretty darn good. While at the Ranger game the other night she stole Natalies phone and took a few group pictures of all us adults (note a few of us may or may not have been consuming an adult beverage) Im sure the near by fans were amused at our parenting skills! Then best is when she wants to take pictures of us while we are driving.
-Taco Casa, this is a little old but still a good one. Oh how this girl LOVES her some Taco Casa. It was really cute when she was learning how to say it "oco asa, nooooo Taco-Casa". When driving by she gets all excited to see it, we have been on a diet from Taco Casa so lately we have had to tell her that its closed. So what does she do know when we drive by "Taco Casa (in her excited voice), no Taco Casa closed" We have taught her so well.
-She is terrified of Snakes, and anything that might look like a snake (ex: stick or wire). Although she did pet a snake at the Zoo yesterday, she was very proud.
-Butter put a frog in his mouth the other day, wrong choice buddy. So while Lilly and I are watching through the back door while butter acts a fool in the grass and foams at the mouth Lilly is determined that he needs to go to the Dr. ASAP. She has such a motherly soul. Maybe she will be a Dr one day, she loves watching Doc McStuffins on Disney Jr.
-Chris wins daddy of the year award for teaching her Wistle Baby by Flowrider. Yea yea yea, I just cant take my 2 and half year old singing about THAT... so now as soon as we hear the opening of the song I hurry and change channel and she tells me "Bad song, wistle baby bad song mommy, daddy sings it" BUSTED Daddy! lol

Yes Im sure this list could go on and on but thats good for now.

Okay!

Just a WHOLE lot of rambeling and updates about Lilly. One of the cute things she is up to lately is instead of saying "yes" everything is either "no" or "okay", It makes me smile every time. She is growing up faster then I could ever dream possible, it seems like just yesterday her okays were high pitched, with much excitment "NO!!!!" somewhere along the line she learned what she was doing was wrong.... hmmmm funny how we learn stuff! Well our lifes are changing again and I hope the optimistic, Chris took a promotion at work. Thats sounds all excting except that means a lot of retail type hours which stinks if you ask me. SO I pray that he gets the experience he needs in a leadership role and gets the heck out... in Gods timing I suppose. And for me, well, I should already be signed up to take my HESI test so I can register for nursing school but taking a semester off has been really nice and Im procrastinating a little bit, OUCH! At least we always have eachother. I tell Chris quite often that I cant picture where we were before Lilly and I honestly mean in... Like what did I do with all my time? Thats my excuse for being fat! I must have sat on the couch eathing all the gosh darn time! Here are a few pictures to update the blog a little bit!

The Beach is a B-E-A-uitful place!

Labor day weekend we planned a little family get away just the 3 of us. Although I was really wishing my parents might tag along just to have a nice family bonding time, it turned out really nice just being the 3 of us! Chris took off Friday and Monday so we dropped Butter off with the parents and we were south bound 45 by lunch time! Traffic was horrible, Im usually not one to get car sick but my anxiety was on edge and the stop and go traffic was about to make me go insane. Lets not mention miss priss in the back seat. Our last road trip she did so well, it was almost soothing for her driving 12 hours to Georgia but our 4 hour drive to Galveston, not so much. By the time we finally got to our room we unpacked and headed to sea wall to get something to eat (first real meal of the day :( ) Something about the ocean waves is so peacful. Saturday morning we woke up had a nice peacfull breakfast in our room that came with a mini kitchen... BONUS! watched some cartoons and got in our swim suits and headed to the beach... So much fun. Lilly was obcessed with the waves coming up on her and the sand/mud, she would have lasted for hours on end. There was this little girl who was quite annoying, I suppose it actually kind of sad when you think of it. Her young mother with 3 other kids was to busy sun bathing to play with her own daughter that she had to come try and drag my little kid around, Um no thank you! Other than her the beach was really nice, Chris even did his taditional cheetos to the sea guls.... scared the crap out of Lilly at first but she warmed up and tried feeding them her self. We built sand castels for lilly to destroy once her pretty blue eyes layed sight on them. Sadly the crazy wind slowed us down a little too. So we had delish Ice cream from downtown and then headed back to the room for a nap, that evening we went to Rainforest Cafe all for the Princess, We took a safari adventure ride and had a fabulous dinner, I pretty sure Lilly was in heaven because she was soooo good the entire time. We saw faces from her we have never seen before. There was some crazy storm coming in and the wind was INSANE.... if i didn't know better I would have said it was a hurrican! Sunday morning we grabbed some shipley's donuts and headed to the Deans house for a nice litte visit, Lilly feel in love with some pineapples thanks to aunt Belinda! then shortly after we headed to the Astros game. Chris wants to travel to all the MLB baseball stadiums when we travel and I thought it was a good idea! Lilly had a little accident due to a quick diaper change in the car- she really is too big for that :) but all in all we had a great time! Minute Made Field was extreamly nice to have AC because we have been to some Ranger games that were extreamly HOT HOT HOT! the energy in the stadium was a little sad... Lilly was boared out of her mind because there was no chants going on. After the game we were well on our way home to have a nice relaxing Labor day to our selfs!

Life is a weee bit CrAzY!!!!

Well I thought I should get on to update about this craziness!!!! For starters Deb went to Michigan and my parents went to Colorado at the same time, we are so greatful to have great sister who are so willing to adjust their schedules to help us out and flexible jobs! Aunt Jen is going to need a vacation when all this is over. So early last week I decided that I wanted to paint my bedroom. I had also agreed to watch Skilar, so I had my day planned perfectly. I got up early got ready, got the girls up and ready, then we headed to the home depot to get my paint. I planned on staying out and about long enough to wear the girls out so they would be ready for lunch and a nap by the time we got home. My plan was working out great, Chris even came home just in time to help me paint too... I love that man!!!! Not 30 min into painting my DUMB self spilt the paint on my carpet.... UGHHHHHHHHH... getting paint out of carpet is a pain in the A** let me tell you, so we did our best and cleaned up the majority of it and got back to painting before the girls woke up. Those cuties have ears like a hawk because the minute one calls out the other one is short to follow. So I put Butter outside and got both girls up gave them a snack and left them to play a little so we could clean up. I wanted to help out as much as possible with Skilar so I had planned on putting both girls in the tub and feeding them dinner before Jen came to get Ski.... When all was said and done and I started thinking about dinner, Chris asked where Butter was..... HOLY SHIT.... My whole world crumbeled. I had left him outside for over an hour and I know he had very little water. When Chris went out to get him he was hidding under the swing not moving but panting very hard, we rushed him in the bath to cool him off but nothing seemed to be working he just stayed very weak :( I freaked out neadless to say. So we pack up 2 1.5 year olds and a VERY sick dog and headed to the 24hr vet. They were extreamly nice but really I felt like all they wanted was our money, so $140 dollars later he was given some fluids and we were back home.... That whole night I was up with him, and when I finally went to bed I knew in the back of my mind that my baby would be gone in the morning.... Much to my surprise when my mother in law came over to watch lilly he was standing up on the gate. Praise the Lord!!!! I really dont think I have slept less in my whole life... even when Lilly was born. So that pretty much sums up my crazy day... whoooo

Lilly-isms

My child is a hoot, and really quite smart. She has mastered turning my lights on and off (which can be quite annoying in the middle of the HOT HOT summer to come into a room and find that the ceiling fan has been turned off or to come home one night and cant see the key hole at the front door because someone has turned off the lights), she LOVES to flush the toilet and Im not sure why but she always seems to find the flashy silvery handle when she is in the bathtub! The other day she found a paint sample on my bed and she turned it over to find the Home Depot logo and said "JEN", that didn't make daddy very happy, lol! Every night she does something to make me laugh, I love every minute of it. Chris and I were talking and mentioned that quite honestly she could be the only child we have. I then came to terms that I dont think that would be very fair for her in her later years of life, she needs a sibling for when we are old and dead... RIGHT? What else is this silly girl into? Her new favorite character is Elmo she points him out everywhere we go, and really enjoys finding him on her pampers. She is talking quite a bit, usually I can tell what she is saying but sometimes not so much. When I ask her to tell me agian she does, exactly the same way and most times I still dont know what she is saying. Im pretty sure she is going to be a great navigator, when we pull into my parents neighborhood she starts saying everyones names... Skies, papa, Jen, Gigi, Mimi (in no order of importants of coarse!) and when we pass by Ihop she says MMMMMMM, I wonder why? I can not begin to list all the things she is saying now but some of our favorites are belly button (bum-bum) and eye brow (eye- bum), she screams for yogart as soon as she sees those danimals in the fridge! Lilly is our little sweet, compassionate child, She loves to be rocked at night with her night night and bedtime prayers, we never say goodbye with out 'big hugs' and kisses. Kisses can be normal kisses, butterfly kisses and her favoirte eskimo kisses (or let me rub my nose in your face till you fell boogers!). None the less we love her SOOOOOOOOO much!

My Tuesday child

Its been a long time... I have about a year of making up to do. How about I just pick up at 18 months!

Lilly's baby book only goes up to a year and then gives you a silly little page for every year after that so Im going to have to use this blog to record all the funny things this child does.... get ready for an over load of Lilly-isms!

Words-
Momma
Dadda
Popa
Jen
Dane (who she associates with the schoold bus that they wait for Dane to get off of)
Doogie
Baaby (in a very southern twang)
Brooobeee (sounds a lot like baaby)
Down (she doesn't know up so says down for up too)
Done
Naana (very much banana)
Juice
Hey
Whats that
Caca
Flower
Jing
Allie
Bye Bye
Night Night
eyes
mouth
shoes

The animal sounds she knows well are doggie, cat, horse, cow, gorilla, sheep and alligator. She has recently started shaking her hear yes and no appropriately. She can recognize her eyes, noes, mouth, ears, hair, tounge, teeth, toes and belly button. My mom has recently taught her to bat her eyes (im telling you she is drama!). Her favorite game to play is the mean face stare game.

Our little Fishy

This little child is a swimming queen, she was much happier in the water splashing around than in this silly float! I'm sure she was thinking "this is for babies"! Ive seen Baby Aquatics swim leasons for infants from like 3 months and how they teach them to swim... I honestly think Lilly could handle it. We layed her on her back and she was so relaxed and floated and her legs kicked like a little fish! I think by the end of the summer Im going to have a tan little girl from all the swimming!

Blogging... or the lack there of!

Well after a HUGE catastrophe in the Dehmel house hold, I have decided to blog again and keep up with it as much as possible! Wednesday, I went to edit a few pictures and upload some to facebook, when I finished I went to transfer a few to my external hard drive... little did I know that a few seconds later I would loose 3 years of pictures :( I feel like Ive lost something so priceless. So lesson learned... back up ALL pictures from now on no matter what! So what that means to my Blog is that I will be uploading and updating a whole lot more.

My little monster is almost 7 months old and somehow I can not even believe time is going by this fast. But I enjoy seeing her learn so very much!!!!!

Having a BIG dog

So this is my everyday life! Poor Butter and Allie have no chance at keeping their toys anymore now that the taz-manian Devil lives with us!!!!! these toys here were the little ones Christmas present and I'm pretty sure they didnt even last a week. And what is a dogs facination with water hoses? because im pretty sure that knox has disected the poor water hose in my back yard more than one time! Lastly he has this need to dig up roots from underground, even though my trees are still Alive?????? What am I going to do with this dog??????? But I still love him!

December

Well with my lack of blogging, I figure its time to play catch up! Lilly is growing like weed and I fell most days as though I've accomplished nothing. It literally takes me all morning to get dressed and brush my teeth if I dont have someone else here to help. Dont get me wrong, I dont mind it AT ALL!!!!! Well what would a blog be with out pictures... so here they are!

So this is her trying out her bumbo seat... lol I think the face says it all! While she did really well with it, I think in her little mind she is saying "let me stay a baby for a little while longer" and with that being said I havn't attempted to put her back in it!!!!

I guess if you have to get a shot then you must have a pretty shiny band-aid to go with it! Lilly had to have her Hep B shot on Dec 2nd and let me tell you, this girl knows how to hold a note... lol! She held her breath for a good minute maybe longer. I guess whith the previous shot and PKU she was too young to know pain? who knows but she was a good sport and was good enough to pose with her lovely proof!

Look at that yawn.... she did have a very busy day! Not to mention Happy Birtday, she was exactly 1 month old! We had lunch with auntie Nat and Justin for Nat's birthday, we went to the mall and shopped, Where we got this georgous hat! We went and hung out with do-do and went to dinner a Pluckers for more birthday celebration! And how cute is she with this shirt?

We went to meet Samantha and Ashley when they got home from the hospital! Sam was so adorable and small... It made me sad to see how fast they really grow! Lilly was a month and 2 days old and Sam was 3 days old! And oh how awesome was it to finally have our babies to hold instead of these rediculous humps on our bellies :)~

Here is another one of the anticipate friends! Richard and Tiana came over to meet Lilly when she was 5 weeks! Richard was born on July 9th and is sooo alert! He was such a cutie but Lilly just slept the whole time they were visiting, something that she is very good at!

Yes she was a very cute little bear and fit in very well with her BIG bear that Auntie Jen gave her at the hospital but I promise I dont normally dress my child in the super hot snow suite everyday here in Texas. This particlar day was the Coldest day yet of the season and our house thermostate was reading 62 degrees..... It was freezing and I even had mittens on Lilly but they didn't match the outfit so I couldn't take a picture with them on :) Luckly my dad and Brian had it all fixed that evening and we had a very toastly space heater that made us extra warm!

Introducing Lillian Paige!

I guess I should post a picture of our wonderful Princess! I wanted to blog about some of the things that she is already doing that I know I will forget about in the next week or two :(

Music instantly calms her, and country music to be more specific! She is a pacey girl but I'm sure we wont out grow that anytime soon. We started eating 3oz bottles on Friday the 13 because other wise her crazy self would want to eat everything in sight, especially her hand. I love the way when I feed her she has this perfect gulp and cooo sound, seriously melts my heart. Then when you try and burp her it like she is soooo excited to be eating she makes this "uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh-uh" noises! Changing table time is becoming one of her favorite times, she just layes there and looks around. Today I layed her in her crib for the first time and she LOVED it, maybe because it was something new, I'm not sure but she found one of her stuffed animals and when I came back in there she had it wraped around her head and her pacey was out!!!!! The baby book has a page for hand prints, so while we getting the foot prints for everything I thought what the heck? I really dont know whos brilliant idea it was for that because it is seriously IMPOSSIBLE to get a newborns hand print, so let me just say that I promise I didn't try to paint my daughters finger nails. If I had then I certainly wouldn't have chosen black!

Lilly is the light of my life and as I hold her on my chest and let her sleep I wonder how long she will want to do that. I cherish ever moment I get with her and I dont want to leave her side agian.

When it rains it pours!

So sunday night my parents came over to watch the cowboy came and eat some chili, and of coarse play with little Lilly! And after they left we finised the game in bed. I knew that it was going to be a long night because Chris was going back to work on Monday and I didn't want him to be up as much with Lilly so he could get some sleep! Well I decided to change that real fast! When I got up at 12 to feed Lilly my face had started to swell so I went to the bathroom and layed down for a few more minutes, When I got back up my whole face was swollen and I could barley open my eyes. I woke Chris up and showed him and took some benedry because I honestly thought that I has some kind of allergic reation to somthing. So I went ahead and fed Lilly. A few minutes later Chris called my mom and we were off to the ER. When we got there they did a EKG, x-ray, pee test and some blood work. With all of that they were able to find that I had a uti, pnemonia and some serious heart issues, not to mention that my blood pressure was 176/106. So they started me on some antibotics and told me that they were going to admit me... my emotions went crazy because there was no way that I wanted to be away from my daughter. When I got to my room they started me on Magnisum, the worst medicine I have ever had in my life... it was horrible and I had to be on it for 24 hours and they told me that I would have to use a bed pan.... what the heck! Luckly they inserted a foley! When Dr. Williams got there the first thing I asked her was when could I go home, she laughed, then I asked when I could get out of that stupid bed, then I asked When I could have some water, Luckly she let me have ice water. So was there all day monday, tuesday and Wednesday. So all of this was caused by Preeclampsia, not allergy! They said that my heart was in overload due to the blood that I had lost during labor and my high blood pressure. On of the Dr.'s said that I had signs of congestive heart failure. What the heck you never think that if you are healthy something like this could happen to you. When Dr. Williams came in Wednesday night to release me she looked at me and said you know you were really sick, really this whole issue has scared the living day lights out of me. But I am SOOO glad to be back home with my princess, because being away from her for part of the first week of her life was one of the hardest things I think I've done yet as a mom. So now that Im home, I'm on blood pressure pills and I'm still having issues with it. I just pray nothign gets too bad again!

Oh yea and just so you can see how bad it really was!!!!!!

The Joy of my Life is Born!

So I guess I need to hurry up and blog about the crazy past week and half before I forget about it, althought its still goning to take a lot to forget about :)

Monday Nov. 2: So Dr. Williams had me scheduled to come in early for my weekly check up. If I still had NO progress then she was going to do something about it! Well 8 am Chris and I are there hoping for progress as we are 2 days shy of being 40 weeks, but our luck aparently has run short! There was nothing, no dialation and I wasn't even thined out any really she said. She she insterted what she called was a balloon.... seriously what the heck! That was probably the worst part of my whole labor process! Its something similar to a foley, there is a balloon that is inserted above the cervics and one below and the pressure of the 2 and gravity working its magic is supposed to start dialation! So I went home with that, and in the mean time Im still suppossed to be on bed rest but with all the pain for this dang balloon I was doing good to waddle! The pain slowly started to dwindle around 1 and I could actually tolarate the thing!

Tuesday Nov. 3: Literally the BEST DAY OF MY LIFE! So we were scheduled to be induced at 7am but needless to say the "balloon" had a different plan. At 11pm I went to the bathroom because my bladder was full to the max but nothing would come out... I thought it was odd but forgot about it and went back to bed, I got up about 3o minutes later and tried agian and the balloon just popped out! Surprisingly enough it wan't even painful. So thinking that I would just go back to sleep until 5 when I had planned to get up and get everything ready to go to the hospital, I layed down and within a few minutes I started feeling contracitons. They were about exactly 7 minutes apart, So I woke up Chris and told him I thought we should go ahead and go in. His reaction was "but your water hasn't broke yet" lol! So I called my mom and got in the shower! We were at the hospital by 1:30. By the time I got up to the labor and delivery floor it was 2:18 and I was dialated to a 5 and had contrations every 4 minutes, things looked very promising at this point and I was actually thankful for the painful "balloon". So the pain was definatly getting more intinse so at 3:3o I got the epidural, praise the lord, why anyone wouldn't want that is beyond me! at 6:15 the nurse checked me again and I was maybe a 6.... this was the first sign that Lilly wan't going to make things easy. At 8 Dr. Williams came in a broke my water, I thought for sure that would get her moving, RIGHT. So another check at 10:45 and I was a 7 and Lilly was finally a little lower. So at 12:45 the epidular started to ware off I could feel the pressure, which I guess your supposed to fell anyway, but I would also fell the contractions and the pain was starting to set in! They gave me a push of more meds through my epi and I already needed another at 2 but praise the Lord at 3:25 I could fell nothing but Lilly pushing down HARD, at that moment I new it was time and boy was that my breaking point. I remember thinking that she could just stay in me forever because I really didnt think I could push her out, lol. So it was time! When it came time for them to call Dr. W she came in and I dont remember much AT ALL... everything happened so fast and this team of nurses all came in and everyone was moving SO fast. I remember my mom asking what she could do to help and then a few minutes later on my last push there was a nurse on top of me pushing down hard on my stomach! But within a few minutes she was out and what I thought was the worst thing I had ever endured was now just a fadded memory! So altogether I was in labor 15 hours and 3 minutes and had pushed for an hour and a half! The complications were because our little princess had her shoulders not wanting out :) what are the odds... she that is why I had a nurse literlly on top of me! and they worried because her right arm wasn't functioning properly. But minutes later she was perfect and healthy and laying right on mommy! She weighed 8lbs 5 oz and was 20.5 in long, with a head full of hair! So after she was born the Dr. still had a job to do on me, even though she cut me I still tore, so another hour later everything was finished and other than some pain I was back to normal and Chris and I were a happy family!

And this would be me at 6 months.... I think I was really enjoying being prego at this point.

Bedrest and all it's glory!

My 37 week mark was quite an intersting one! My feet were becoming huge, in fact Chris called them Ogar's feet! and I called the docotors office on tuesday to see if by any chance they could see me earlier or exempt me from work because being on my feet for 12 hours straight was giving me an anxiety attack just thinking about it. Well the STUPID nurse that I really dont care much for told me "dont hold your breath" so sarcasticly. That thursday I worked and had a Dr. Appt at 3:30, so I fully intended on going in and explaining to Dr. Williams all of my pains and hoping that she would fell sorry for me and exempt me. Well the minute that she walked into the room she found all these issues and I didn't have to say a thing. She just took one look at my feet and blood pressure and said "I'm putting you on Bed Rest", and that is where I have been since then (with a few minor exceptions!)

Just to make everyone happy here is a picture of my pitiful feet on a GOOD day!

In Loving Memory

So my grandfather passes away on October 8th, the day after my dad's birthday. While it was extreamly heartbreaking the whole weekend was bitter sweet.

My grandad had been living in a facility with his 91 year old mother in Wichita Falls for a little shy of a month. Something that will probably add another year to my Nanny Rene's life! So my mom and dad brought Nanny back to stay through all the upcoming events. Starting that thursday night we went through tons of old photo albums and laughed and reminised through all the years of my Grandma and Grandad! I learned NOT to give your Great grandmother prune juice and chris learned all the in's and out's of Skip-bo (which we also learned of "new" rule this time from Nanny). Mom and I took her to Sears, her favorite store, and she was in her wheel chiar scooting all around the clearence racks! We shared old stories with my Aunt, Uncle and cousins, Daniel even had us in tears at one point! I know that Grandma and Grandad would have been happy to know that we were remembering all the good and happy times of their lives together and I'm so happy that they are reunited together with the Lord! The picture above is the entire Horton Family, all together as one!
